Know Your Bartender

Just wanted to post this link because I found it absolutely hilarious. Actually, the whole site is hilarious. Brilliant writing throughout. And if you haven't bought the book, you should.

What kind of bartender are you??? Me? Somewhere between Bar God and Professional. I'm trying hard to move away from Bar God status though.

Keith, Modern Drunkard has been a wired bubble bible for booze babies for years. I also find it hilarious, especially the take on Dr. Seuss. We're staking our own claim to the internet with www.cocktailcool.com. The site launches in November and I'm combing the net for literate contributors. If you post something wicked, we'll have it translated into Traditional Chinese - it's a bilingual site. Sorry for the relative mess there now, it's a work in progress...

Seems most of the bars (at least the divey neighborhood ones I frequent) in my neck of the woods employ the "Grizzled Veteran"...which can be both a blessing and a curse.

Once at a local watering hole an older female bartender regaled us with great stories and jokes accumulated from her many years behind the stick.

However, when I decided to switch from beer and order a Martini, I was given a rocks glass with equal proportions well gin and vermouth accompanied by a couple of sad-looking ice lumps.

Atmosphere: 10
Drink quality: 1

I was in the U first week of February while visiting my sister and her bf, Kris Williams (chef at Tavolata). We ended up in Queen Ann where we ate at the Wolf (f!@%ing amazing btb) but got our pregame on by you...I noticed you had a fruit squeezer behind the bar...anythoughts how to get ones hands on one of those dealios? much appreciated.......Ben
